Summer Trainee for the Sokli project


The mission of Finnish Minerals Group is to responsibly maximize the value of Finnish minerals. We manage the State’s mining industry shareholdings and strive to develop the Finnish value chain of lithium-ion batteries. In addition, we are engaged in long-term technology development of the mining and battery industry. Through our work, we contribute to Europe moving towards electric transport and a more sustainable future.

The Finnish Minerals Group is comprised of the following companies: Finnish Minerals Group (Suomen Malmijalostus Oy), Finnish Battery Chemicals Oy, a project company involved in the preparation of battery value chain investments, Terrafame Oy, a multi-metal company and Sokli Oy, a mining project in Savukoski, acquired in December 2020.  In addition, Finnish Minerals Group owns 26.3% of Keliber Oy.

We are seeking an ambitious Summer Trainee for Sokli project to join our team. You will report to Finnish Minerals Group’s Investment Director and you will be employed either by Finnish Minerals Group or by our subsidiary Sokli Oy.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Tasks related to the documentation and material management of the Sokli project
  • Your tasks may also include participation to other existing and new mining projects

Candidate profile

  • A few years of study, preferably in the field of mineral or process industry
  • Willingness to take responsibility as well as the ability to learn and apply new things quickly
  • Willingness to work independently, diligence and orderliness
  • Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
  • Fluency both in Finnish and English
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs
  • Travel readiness in Finland in the Savukoski and Kuopio area
  • At least a class B driving license

Legal Trainee


We are seeking a Legal Trainee to assist permanent lawyers during summer season 2021.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Organizational tasks related to document management
  • Legal research
  • Tasks related to organising administration
  • Preparation of documents
  • Trade register notifications
  • Providing assistance to lawyers

Candidate profile

  • Motivated to learn new things
  • More than halfway through LL.M. studies
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness and interest in project-type tasks
  • Fluency both in Finnish and English

What is considered an advantage

  • Completed studies in company, contract and environmental law
  • Experience working at a law firm or industrial company

Summer Trainee for Executive Assistant/ Business Controller 


We are seeking a Summer Trainee for Executive Assistant/ Business Controller during summer holidays 2021.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • A contact person for the practical matters and IT support
  • Check of purchase invoices
  • CEO's calendar management and other assistance
  • Assistance of the Head of Sustainability and Communications (e.g. updating websites, LinkedIn)
  • Meeting and travel arrangements as needed
  • Auxiliary tasks of accounting and internal accounting
  • Project system administrator tasks
  • Tasks related to working time reporting

Candidate profile

  • Polytechnic or University studies in business administration or similar
  • Willingness to take responsibility as well as the ability to learn and apply new things quickly
  • Excellent teamwork, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs
  • Fluency both in Finnish and English

What is considered an advantage

  • Previous experience in similar tasks
